How to Wear & Maintain Your Hair System in Hot Summer
Summer heat and heavy sweating bring unique challenges for hair system wearers. Excess sweat can break down adhesives, cause scalp itchiness, create unpleasant odors, and shorten the lifespan of your hair unit. Below are practical tips for comfortable daily wear and proper maintenance during hot weather.
1. Choose the Right Base for Summer
Base material directly decides how cool you feel.
Full Lace Base: The most breathable option. Air flows freely through the mesh, making it perfect for hot climates and people who sweat a lot. Swiss lace offers an ultra-natural hairline, while French lace delivers better durability.
Thin Skin (PU) Base: Easy to clean and provides realistic scalp appearance. However, ventilation is limited. If you prefer thin skin, pick ultra-thin 0.03mm–0.06mm versions instead of thicker ones to reduce stuffiness.
Hybrid Base (Lace Front + Thin Skin Back & Sides): The balanced all-round choice. The lace front ensures an invisible hairline, and thin skin sections improve durability. It works well for most wearers if you want a balance between breathability and convenience.
2. Installation & Wearing Tips in Hot Weather
Always fully clean and dry your scalp before attaching the hair system. Sweat, oil and moisture will make tape or liquid glue lift quickly.
Select sweat-resistant professional tape or adhesive. Avoid over-applying bonding products; extra glue traps more heat and sweat.
Shorten your wear cycle. In cooler seasons, many people keep the unit attached for 10–14 days. In summer, 7–10 days is recommended to avoid residue buildup, scalp irritation and bad smell.
After exercise or heavy sweating, gently blot sweat around the hairline with a soft towel. Do not rub hard, which weakens the bond.
Try to avoid staying under direct strong sunlight for hours. Long-term UV exposure fades hair color and damages the base material.
3. Summer Cleaning & Daily Care Rules
Use lukewarm water rather than hot water to wash your hair system. High temperature dries out human hair and weakens the base.
Choose sulfate-free mild shampoo. When washing, avoid scrubbing the base aggressively. Pat gently instead of twisting or rubbing.
Apply conditioner only to hair strands. Keep conditioner away from the base, or it will leave sticky residue and affect future attachment.
Air-dry the unit naturally whenever possible. If you use a hairdryer, stick to cool or low heat mode. High heat can ruin knots and deform lace or thin skin.
Comb from hair ends upwards, never pull from the root, to prevent shedding.
4. Extra Useful Advice
If you wear the hair system every day, having two units for rotation is ideal. While one is being cleaned and dried, you can wear the spare one, reducing continuous wear pressure on a single hair system.
If your scalp easily gets itchy, remove the unit regularly to let your skin breathe. Do not ignore persistent irritation.
Following these simple rules will help you stay comfortable, keep your hair system secure, and extend its service life throughout the hot summer.
